YouTube Suffers Unprecedented Downtime And Users Can’t Stay Calm

The world’s second largest search engine on October 17 at about 1:20AM GMT experienced a major downtime for the first time this year, leaving users of the video-sharing site stranded and costing creators a lot of $$$. The outage did not spare YouTube Music and YouTube TV.

Famous tech creator, Marquez Brownlee with screenname MKBHD and 7 million+ subscribers described this as unprecedented. He took to Twitter and wrote “Never seen YouTube down for 30+ minutes like this before 👀.” Other users also reported the YouTube app not working.

“We’re working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed,” the Team YouTube account says. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated” YouTube acknowledged and assured users.

A couple of hours later, the issue was resolved.
